#Shenanigate

Oct 22, 2024

Another job title to add to Meaghan Stirn’s already fulsome resume: Chief Shenanigator. (For the record, we mention that as Vice President (VP) of Finance Meaghan is also the Chief Finagler).

Urban Dictionary defines a “Shenanigator” as one who shenanigizes, that is, one who constantly schemes up and perpetrates shenanigans or trouble.

Meaghan’s maiden name is McNatt, and shenanigans sounds like an Irish surname ☘️ (not sure if it really is), so the unofficial title fits from that perspective.

The other day we began a perfectly innocent email to an individual named Shenigan with “Hi Shenigan”, which caused Meaghan, and the other half of the Shenanigan Squad, Erica Burbano, both cc’d on the email, to break into hysterics. “Erica and I just read this email as ‘Hi Shenanigan’ and cannot stop laughing” Meaghan emailed.

Which prompted us to wonder again, for maybe the umpteenth time, what exactly Meaghan’s muy misterioso and seemingly anodyne job title, VP of Special Projects (or “Veep” for short), entails. To date, Veep Meaghan has consistently slow-walked and stonewalled any attempts by us to find out. Whenever we ask her for more information to clear up the confusion her response is invariably either, ‘No comment’, or ‘I could tell you but then I’d have to…well you know’, to which we respond “No, Meaghan, we don’t!”. We are almost afraid to dig further, lest we expose a cache of secret shenanigans, the likes of which haven’t been seen since Watergate. “Shenanigate” we’d call it. Or maybe “Menanigate” for Meaghan, even though “Menanigate” sounds male. (Note to self: is she-nanigans inherently female?)

One hint comes from Meaghan’s AI-generated email avatar shown at the top. Is “VP of Special Projects” code for a rogue, secret artificial intelligence project taking place right under our noses? Is Meaghan, unbeknownst to the rest of EpicentRx, working with OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman? Are these the dots to connect? Or are we reading too much into it? When we put the question to ChatGPT, it warned us ominously to “back off”. Like…what!!?? Seriously, has this ever happened to anyone else before?

We publicly call on the less-than-forthcoming albeit charming Chief Shenanigator for answers.
